Year 9

YEAR 9 STUDENTS

• 2 lines of 4 periods each: English and Maths.
• 3 lines of 3 periods each: Science, Social Studies, and Phe/Health.

Plus

Mainstream: (8 classes)

Taster line has 8 subjects for 4 periods (MEC, FST, CTE, ART, DNC, MUS, DRA, & CST) each lasting half a term (5 weeks)
Languages line has 4 subjects for 3 periods (Digital Literacy, Te Reo, Samoan and Tongan lasting for ONE TERM each.

OTU: (Samoan)

Eng, Mat, Sci, Sst, Phe are the same as mainstream.
Taster line has 4 subjects (combined with Y9 Lower & KOR classes) for 4 periods lasting a term. (ART, PER, MES, and Digital Literacy)
Languages slot they only do Samoan lasting ALL YEAR.

Lower Y9: (9EA)

Eng, Mat, Sci, Sst, Phe are the same as mainstream.
Taster line has 4 subjects (combined with 9OT & KOR classes) for 4 periods lasting a term. (ART, PER, MES, and Digital Literacy)
Languages slot they only do additional Literacy / EL, lasting ALL YEAR.

Korowai:

Mat, Sci, Phe are the same as mainstream. (4+3+3=10 periods)
Integrated for 10 periods.
Taster line has 4 subjects (combined with 9OT & Y9 Lower classes) for 4 periods lasting a term. (ART, PER, MES, and Digital Literacy). (4 Periods)
No Language Line (absorbed by INT / EL)

PUU:

Same as mainstream, but in Languages slot they only do Te Reo lasting ALL YEAR.
An additional period for PAN, ENG and TRM can be facilitated by having only one rollypolly with HND, RMA, HNC, TOW X2, TOM, TOR, TOA); 3 periods each for 5 weeks rotating with Y10 Puutake.
