Level 2 Biology

To do this course…

Students should have achieved at least 10 credits in Level 1 Science or achieved NCEA Level 1 and wishes to take Biology at Level 2.

What you do in this course…

You will explore a number of fascinating Biology topics, in order to develop a greater awareness of who we are, where we come from and how we and other animals operate within our environment.

There is a mix of Internal and External assessments offered.

This is a good choice if…

• You enjoyed Biology in Year 11
• You’re a “Science” person and you enjoy biology and science-based tasks and learning
• You are intending to study for qualifications that require it (for example, Nursing)
• You are looking at attaining UE

On the Subject Pathway Map, this subject leads to a UE-approved subject at Level 3
