Students must have at least 7 credits in Level 1 Music standards or have had a minimum of four years of instrumental tuition or demonstrate equivalent abilities (subject to approval from HOD Music). This course involves performing to a live audience, and requires commitment to weekly instrumental tuition. |
What you do in this course… |
You will focus on developing instrumental/vocal performance skills, as a soloist and a member of a group. You will also work on all-round musicianship – training the ear to recognize and analyse musical features and elements as well as improving individual ability to read, write and analyse notation from a variety of scores. You will also have the opportunity to develop compositional and arranging skills, using Sibelius software. You will need to have a good attendance in order to meet rehearsal and performance requirements. This course only offers Internal assessments. |
