Level 1 Music

Course Description

To do this course…

Students must have done Music in Year 10 and passed performance assessments or have had a minimum of three years of instrumental tuition or demonstrate equivalent abilities (subject to approval from HOD Music).

This course involves performing to a live audience, and requires commitment to weekly instrumental tuition.

What you do in this course…

You will focus on developing instrumental/vocal performance skills, as a soloist and a member of a group.  You will also work on all-round and have the opportunity to develop compositional skills, using Sibelius software.

 

You will need to have a good attendance in order to meet rehearsal and performance requirements.

 

This course only offers Internal assessments.

 

This is a good choice if…

  • You enjoy expressing yourself creatively through performance and/or composition
  • You have a strong work ethic and excellent time management
  • You are interested in studying Music at UE level in Years 12 and 13

 

On the Subject Pathway Map, this subject leads to a University Approved subject at Levels 2 and 3
