Level 1 Art

To do this course…

Students should enjoy and have some talent in drawing and painting. It would be useful to have successfully completed the Year 10 Art option course.

What you do in this course…

You will improve and broaden your skills in drawing and painting and making artworks, and you’ll learn how to develop ideas for artworks based on learning about artists.

Assessment for this course is a mix of Internal standards and a completed Folio of work from across the year.

You would need to attend after school tutorials.

This is a good choice if…

• You enjoy artistic and creative expression, especially through drawing and painting
• You can think creatively and imaginatively to develop ideas
• You have a strong work ethic and solid time management
• You are looking at studying Art at UE level in Years 12 and 13

On the Subject Pathway Map, this subject leads to a University Approved subject at Levels 2 and 3
