What you do in this course…

Level 3 Adventure Leadership is a course that offers our ākonga unique outdoor leadership opportunities that allow them to further utilise previously learnt skills and develop their personal leadership capabilities. Students will learn how to plan, manage and run a junior MANA camp that aligns with our school values and gives our year 13 students the opportunity to lead and grow our year 9 and 10 students. They will also participate in a 6-Day mountain biking, kayaking, and tramping journey that focuses on how to plan an outdoor trip, how to survive in the outdoors, how to effectively manage risks, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of the trip. Our ākonga are also fortunate enough to participate in a 4-Day Sailing trip that pushes them outside their comfort zone, utilises their water safety knowledge, and enables them to work effectively together with others while in uncomfortable situations. This course only offers Internal assessments.

You will need to maintain attendance at 90% or better in order to meet course requirements.
