Level 2 Tongan

To do this course…

Students should have completed the Tongan language option in Year 11 or demonstrate equivalent abilities (subject to approval from HOD Tongan Language).

What you do in this course…

You will continue to build key language skills in reading, writing and speaking, including an interaction task that develops conversational language.  Through these tasks you will also have the chance to explore aspects of the Tongan way of life and develop your appreciation of Tongan traditions and customs.

There is a mix of Internal and External assessments offered.

This is a good choice if…

• You enjoy building and developing your skills in Lea Faka-Tonga
• You are interested in exploring and endorsing Tongan traditions and customs
• You are interested in continuing to study Tongan in Year 13

On the Subject Pathway Map, this subject leads to a University Approved subject at Levels 2 and 3
