Course Description

To do this course…

Students should have completed Level 1 Science and Level 2 Chemistry courses.

What you do in this course…

You will build on what you learnt in Level2 Chemistry, and look at topics including the synthesis and properties of organic compounds and their spectroscopic analysis, Electrochemistry, Structure and Thermochemical Properties of Selected Particles, the Dynamics of Aqueous Chemistry and a consideration of Chemical Processes in the World around us.

There is a mix of Internal and External assessments offered.

This is a good choice if…

  • You enjoyed Chemistry in Year 12
  • You’re a “Science” person and you enjoy chemistry and science-based tasks and learning
  • You are intending to study science at tertiary/university level
  • You are looking at attaining UE
